Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Irwinton Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Jackson, the Rev. Bob Murphy and the Rev. Roger Browher will officiate.
Mrs. Ward was born in Wilkinson County, the daughter of the Walter M. and Massingill Lavender.
She was the widow of the late Wilbur Ward. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
She was a retired Health Services Tech at Central State Hospital and was a member of the Irwinton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky W. Dent of McIntyre; grandchildren, Krystal D. Sheffield and Caleb Dent; great-grandchildren, Gracie Gay, Blair Dent, Elizabeth Dent, and Gage Sheffield; two stepgrandchildren, Haley Sheffield and Justin Sheffield.
