Mr. Jochens was born Oct 14, 1924, at Kelley, Colo. He was reared in Nebraska, graduating from Fairbury High School in 1942. He was married to Dollie Prather on July 3, 1944, at Liberal, Kan. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949. During World War II he served as a B-24 pilot in the Army Air Corps in the European theatre. They lived in Lincoln where he was associated with the U.S. Geological Survey until he entered the sprinkler irrigation business. They came to Nampa in 1963 where he was manager of the Irrigation Service, Inc., until his medical retirement in 1967.
He was a member of the Nampa First United Presbyterian Church, and a past member of Nampa BPOE No. 1389 and the National Sprinkler Irrigation Association.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jay (Christine) Kalbus, El Ceritto, Calif., and Cynthia Jochens, Nampa; a son, Steven Jochens, Nampa; his mother, Margaret Jochens, Denver; two brothers, Leslie J. Jochens, Denver, and Ervin Jochens, Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mildred Duncan, Burlingame, Calif., and Irene Smalley, Perry, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
