Lue Annie Coleman Matthews, affectionately know as "Lute," the first girl and second child in the family of John Thomas and Annie Laura Coleman, was born on the fourth of March, 1895, in Mesa, Arizona. She was the first child married, when just after her 18th birthday, she met and married "a tall, dark, and handsome young man, Ralph Vince Matthews on Aug 13, 1913. It was a perfect match, never were two people more compatible.
Lute's life reflected those early days by the way she lived. She was content without all the modern conveniences and was satisfied with her home, family and friends. The most important thing in her life was her family. Her two sons and her grand-children. At the time of her death she had 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren Ralph Bernard and John were her main stays and gave her great support throughout her life.
Lue Anna, was a member of the LDS church. Although, not an active member of the church, she adhered to the principles throughout her life.
Lute continued to live at her Dana home until she passed away October 26, 1983. When calculated she lived at 512 W Dana for over 63 years.
