Paul was born in Mesa, Arizona July 30, 1910, on a small farm where Pioneer Park is now located. A few months after he was born, the house where he was born, burned down on Halloween night. The saddest part was to later discover that any old pictures and memorabilia burned in the fire. His fathers name was John Thomas Coleman, born in January 27, 1870 in Springville, Alabama. His mothers name was Annie Laura Phelps from Montpelier, Idaho. Father and Mother had 14 children, two of which died as infants.
"We were a large family. Generally a friendly and happy family, but poor as to the shortage of cash. I don't remember any of us doing any great worrying about that. It was just life's situation of most pioneer families in Mesa."
Paul married Helen Elizabeth Donaldson, who also was born in Mesa to George Washington and Lula Faie Newell Donaldson. They were going to be married in Tombstone, but when they got there, the justice was closed so they went on to Bisbee, Arizona and got married,on the 17th day of July, 1933
On August 29, 1934 Donna Kay was born. Then 3 years later on December 18, 1937 as son was born, Nicholas Kent, named after the attending Physician Melvin Lloyd Kent. On September 18, 1946 Anna Ruth was born.
Paul and Helen, were married 67 years. Helen passed away 14 Dec 2000. Paul Passed away October 12, 2004 while resting in a chair
