Hester was married to William James Gridley on October 26, 1873 in Tazewell County, Illinois. William James Gridley was a barber. William James Gridley died on April 11, 1933 in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois at the age of 82.
Hester and William are known to have had six children, four of whom are buried with their parents in the Olio Township Cemetery.
