Delmar J. Dudley, age 89, passed away on February 24, 2011 at Christus Saint Joseph Villa.

Delmar was born April 26, 1921 in Dudley, Wisconsin. The son of Richard and Nellie Dudley. He was the third of four children. Served five and one half years in the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II.

Married Jean A. Brown on August 7, 1943. They had three sons, Richard, Steven, and David.

Retired from United Pacific Reliance Insurance Co. in April of 1985. Member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, where he served as a lector for twenty years. Honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and charter member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Past president of the Judge Memorial High School Booster Club. Also served as a member of the school board of that school after that. Active in promoting youth activities and athletics at Saint Ambrose parish and the Cosgriff School. Past member of the Salt Lake Photocrome club, the Photographic Print Society and the Photo Nature Club. Delmar was a great lover of the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt all game, but in later years he used the camera instead, to bring home the rewards of nature. After retiring in 1985, he became a licensed photographer and opened his own studio and operated under the name of D.D. Photography for the next ten years.

Survived by three sons and their wives, Richard (Susan Glasmann), Steven (Susan), and David (Sabrina). Two grandchildren Arielle Dudley and Tyson Dudley. Brother in law James S. Brown (Jay Ellen) of Merrill, WI. Three nieces Di Ann Botiinski of Mosinee, WI. Denise Gault of Heron, ME, and Maureen Sechrengost of Lakewood, CA.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Ambrose Catholic Church 1975 South 2300 East. A Vigil Service will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends and family will visit from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Committal: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
