Lorraine E. Dudley
Lorraine E. Dudley, 92, Harmony Assisted Living Center, a retired teacher, died there on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, while under the care of Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover, with the Rev. Jim Trempe officiating. Burial will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Merrill.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the Mass. Memorials may be made to the parish in lieu of flowers.

Miss Dudley was born April 4, 1916, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Richard and Nellie (Young) Dudley. She grew up in the village of Dudley. She attended a local country grade school that her grandfather built. She later graduated from Merrill High School.
She attended Lincoln County Normal School and later graduated from Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point (now the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point). She attended the World Campus Afloat, a program sponsored by Chapmen College in California.
She taught in several rural schools in Tomahawk, Irma and Phelps. She later moved to Kaukauna to teach fifth grade and students in special education. She retired in 1975 from Kaukauna and moved back to Stevens Point.
She was past president of AARP and of the Portage County Deanery. She was also a past member Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a past member of the Morning Lions Club and Stevens Point Area Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include one brother, Delmar Dudley, Salt Lake City, Utah; one niece, Di Ann; three nephews, Richard, Steven and David; and grand nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard; one sister, Edith; and one niece, Betty Kay.
