Mrs. Annie Burns Davis, 86, of Route 2, Resaca, died Thursday morning (Oct. 17, 1985) at 1:35, at Gordon Health Care Center, following two years of declining health. Mrs. Davis was born on July 30, 1899 in Union County, a daughter of the later James E. and Angelene Land Burns. She was a mamber of the New Hope Baptist Church at Tunnell Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis, daughter Oma Davis, and three sons: Oscar, George, and Dennis Davis.
Surviving include a daughter, Mrs Bertha Davis Cady of Resaca; three sons, Edd L. Davis and J. D. Davis, both of Calhoun, and Johnny Davis of Resaca; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Burns Patton of Resaca, and Mrs. Radie Burns Martin, Mrs. Ivie Burns Wheat, and Mrs. Edith Burns Muse, all of Dalton; two brothers, Johnny Burns of Dalton and James Burns of Calhoun; 15 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church at Tunnell Hill, with Rev. Stephen Pearson conducting the service.
Interment was in the family lot of New Hope Cemetery. Max Brannon and sons Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
