Mrs. Ella Mae Patton. 88, of Webber Road, Plainville, and formally of Dalton, died Tuesday morning (Jan. 1, 1991) in Gordon Hospital, following a long illness.
Mrs Patton was born in Union County, Jan. 25, 1902, a daughter of the late James Ed and Angeline Land Burns. She had lived most of her life in Whitfield County, where she was a retired textile employee and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Nim Lucious Patton, who died in 1979, and she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys "Polly" Patton Bryant in 1973; and a son, Jack E. Patton in 1979.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Bertha Stephens Bagley of Dalton, and Mrs. Marie Patton Woodall of Resaca; three sons, Harlon and James Patton, both of Dalton, and Billy Patton of Plainville; three sisters, Radie Burns Martin, Ivie Burns Wheat and Edith Burns Muse, all of Dalton; and a brother Johnny Burns of Dalton; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 3, 1991) from the Bradley Anderson Memorial Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Williams conducting the service. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitfield County.
