At the Home of "Aunt Jane Skiles", in Shelby.

"Aunt Jane" Skiles' home at Shelby was the scene of a delightful family reunion Christmas day which was attended by a happy party of relatives. Mrs. Skiles is the widow of the late John G. Skiles, who died about ten years ago and is the mother of Congressman elect W. W. Skiles, and County Commissioner Skiles. Over forty years ago Mr. and Mrs. Skiles, on their farm in Jackson township, inaugurated the observance of Christmas dinner for the relatives and this annual gathering had been observed ever since, being continued after they removed to Shelby and since Mr. Skiles died. It was a merry party and the day was spent most enjoyably. The Christmas dinner which was spread was a sumptuous feast to which all did full justice.

It is a remarkable fact that in all this wide connection, which includes a number of families, there has not been a death for eight years. The following were the guests. Mr. and Mrs. O. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. William Daugherty of Shelby, Mr. and Mrs. William M. Hahn of Mansfield, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cramer, Skiles Cramer, Guy Cramer, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Skiles, Miss Zanta Skiles, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Skiles, Roscoe Skiles, Miss Blanche Skiles, Miss Grace Skiles, Glenn Skiles, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Smith, Miss Lettie Smith, Miss Maud Smith, Damon Smith, Miss Gladys Smith, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Skiles, Clifford Skiles, Howard Skiles, of Shelby, Mr. and Mrs. Bart Crum, John Crum of Franklin township, Miss Fletta Crum, Mr. and Mrs. John Fish of Shelby, DeForest Fish, Cortez Fish of Shelby, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bell of Mansfield.
