OBITUARY
CANADIAN - Charlotte SUMNER, 81, died Sunday, February 18, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Canadian with Brother Jerry Golden, pastor; the Rev. Harry Morris, a retired Baptist minister from Mount Vernon, Wash.; and the Rev. Scott Raef, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors in Canadian.
Mrs. SUMNER was born in Hemphill County. She graduated from Canadian High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church.
She married Randolph SUMNER in 1941 in Canadian. He died in 1998. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay, in 1947.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald SUMNER of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Dwight SUMNER of Spearman; two daughters, Sandra ERMIS of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Joan SUMNER of San Angelo; two sisters, Betty ROWLEY of Rogers, Arkansas, and Dannie MORRIS of Mount Vernon, Washington; a brother, W. C. "Dub" WELCH Jr. of Downey, California; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 2404 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo TX 79106, or Hemphill County Library, 500 Main, Canadian TX 79014.
The family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
