Major League Baseball Player. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, he made his debut as a right hand pitcher for the Houston Astros on September 29, 1966. In nine seasons with the Astros 1966 to 1974, he pitched two no-hitters against the Atlanta Braves June 18, 1967, against the Cincinnati Reds May 1, 1969 and was a member of the National League All-Star team in 1971. He ended his career 104 games won, 92 lost, 20 shutouts, 2 saves, 1283 strikeouts and a 3.15 earned run average. Wilson was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning in his Houston, Texas, garage. His uniform number 40, was retired by the Astros on April 13, 1975.
