Abdon Rubio Resided in Saratoga Don passed away February 16, 2010, due to complications of Parkinson's disease. Born in Manhattan, NY, on Feb. 9, 1927, to Francisco and Irma Rubio he is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, his children, Andrea and Gary Rubio, his brother, Robert, four loving step-children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Don worked as an engineer for GE for many years then moved to the Nuclear Division of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) where he was a Director. Don was a proud Fellow of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Besides reading numerous scientific journals and anything related to history, Don was passionate about racquetball and was considered a champion player amongst his many friends on the court. He was also an avid bridge player. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of his Life to be held at the Clubhouse in Saratoga Oaks from 2:00 to 5:00 on March 14th. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson's Institute 675 Almanor Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085.
