I would like to preface this memorial by extending my appreciation to Glenda Ragan for maintaining this memorial prior to me, and to June Ragan for originally creating it. My family thanks you for what you've done for us.

Nick's Certificate of Baptism indicates the spelling of his name to be Nicholaus Novak, although he did not follow that spelling.

Nick received his high school diploma at the age of 16 years while living in Ruth, NV. Nick enlisted in the Navy on April 29, 1935. He was stationed in Hawthorne, NV. After serving in the Navy, he enlisted in the US Army during World War II on July 7, 1944. He was stationed in San Francisco, CA.

Nick married Marilyn Teel, who was born on August 9, 1896. They lived in New Castle, CA in an old Victorian house. There was a big old barn on their property, filled with antiques. The house was also filled with antiques since Marilyn was in the antiques business. There were so many antiques that you had to walk sideways in the hallways of the house.

Nick broke his back in a mining accident and while recuperating, he contacted pneumonia and then died of acute myocardial infarction. Marilyn died in Pasadena, CA in 1983. Her grave site in unknown.
