Born on the Isle of Man. Son of Robert Kermeen and Anne Jane (Logan) Kermeen. Came to America at the age of 15. Worked in the coal mines at Rich Hill, Missouri. Married Mary Ann Gruber in 1898 in Portland, Missouri. Came West to Cle Elum, Washington in 1899. (The family name changed over the years from Kermeen to Kermen.) Worked in the old Cle Elum No. 7 mine and the Independant Mine. Later worked as a millworker for the M.C. Miller sawmill. Served on the Cle Elum City Council at one time.
