Daughter of August Frederick Gruber and Anna Louisa (Van Straaten) Gruber. Her given name was Maria Louisa, but was always known as "Mary Ann". Married William Frederick Kermen (Kermeen) in 1898 in Missouri. Moved to Cle Elum, Washington in the fall of 1899. Raised five sons; Henry, Raymond, William, Frederick and Clarence. Member of the V.F.W. Auxillary, Rebekah Lodge and Presbyterian Church.
