Elizabeth Mary Margaret "Libbie" Strayer was the daughter of Adam Gibe and Margaret Anna (Smith, Tombaugh) Strayer, their 4th of 6 children together.
Libbie's father, Adam Gibe, of York County, PA, was a well-known figure in the Meridian Township of Okemos, MI, one of the first pioneer settlers there in the mid-1850s and a friend of Chief Okemos and other Indians in the area. Chief "Johnny" Okemos, a well-known figure from the Saginaw / Grand River Band of the Chippewa (Ojibway) Indian tribe, in the mid-1800s when the family moved from Ohio to Meridian Township.

Adam had four children from his first marriage to Catherine Lesher/Lischer, who died in 1850.
He married 2nd to Libbie's mother, Margaret Anna (Smith, Tombaugh), a young widower with 2 sons, in Nov. 1851. Nine months after the birth of Adam and Margaret Anna's sixth child, Carl Strayer, Margaret Anna died (22 Sep 1862), when Libbie was six years old.
Adam married a third time, about 1863, to Magdalena "Lena" (Heaffner) Builhaiver of Lansing, mother of 3 children who were living at the time of her death in 1903, although I do not have names of any of these children. Thus Libbie had multiple siblings, including half- and step-siblings:

Elizabeth Mary Margaret "Libbie" Strayer was the daughter of Adam Gibe and Margaret Anna (Smith, Tombaugh) Strayer, their 4th of 6 children together.
Libbie's father, Adam Gibe, of York County, PA, was a well-known figure in the Meridian Township of Okemos, MI, one of the first pioneer settlers there in the mid-1850s and a friend of Chief Okemos and other Indians in the area. Chief "Johnny" Okemos, a well-known figure from the Saginaw / Grand River Band of the Chippewa (Ojibway) Indian tribe, in the mid-1800s when the family moved from Ohio to Meridian Township.

Adam had four children from his first marriage to Catherine Lesher/Lischer, who died in 1850.
He married 2nd to Libbie's mother, Margaret Anna (Smith, Tombaugh), a young widower with 2 sons, in Nov. 1851. Nine months after the birth of Adam and Margaret Anna's sixth child, Carl Strayer, Margaret Anna died (22 Sep 1862), when Libbie was six years old.
Adam married a third time, about 1863, to Magdalena "Lena" (Heaffner) Builhaiver of Lansing, mother of 3 children who were living at the time of her death in 1903, although I do not have names of any of these children. Thus Libbie had multiple siblings, including half- and step-siblings:
