Orval, or Jack as he was known, was born Sept 25, 1915 at Coldwater Kansas. He was the 6th child born to Julius B and Belva Lockwood "Findley" Parks. He married Christina F. Kahler Sept 3, 1936, in Alva, Oklahoma. They had 1 son and 2 daughters. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and a member of the First Church of God in Hutchinson, Kansas. His son, Jack L Parks died Sept 10, 1995, in New Mexico and after cremation, his ashes were scattered over the mountains that he loved.
Orval died Monday Dec. 15, 1980 at the Halstead Hospital after a short illness. He left numerous family members and friends to mourn his death. His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 1980 at the First Church of God with the Rev. C.E. Cox officiating. He was laid to rest at Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas.
