William "Bill" A. Richter, age 68, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away as the result of a heart attack on Aug. 30, 1995, at Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI.
Services were held at St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church, the Rev. Donald Przybyiski officated. Burial in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Boston Funeral Home assisted the family.
Mr. Richter was born Sept. 30, 1926 in the town of Sharon, the son of the late Joseph and Martha Richter. He grew up and attended schools in the Polonia area.
He joined the U.S. Army in Sept. 1950 and served in the engineering corps in Korea receiving the Korean Service Medal, one bronze campaign star and the United Nations service medal.
He married Alice L. Kluck on Jan. 26, 1953 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. She survives.
Mr. Richter owned and operated a mason contracting business. He was 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1170 and a member of American Legion Post 509 at Rosholt. He played guitar, banjo and violin for a polka band, enjoyed the Packers, golfing, camping and watching his grandchildren play hockey.
Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Cindy, Chicago, and Christine, Peoria, IL. One son Randy (Marcia), Stevens Point, one brother, Dominic (Viola), Custer; one sister, Bridget Betker, Rosholt; and two grandchildren.
