CROSSVILLE — John Cal Slaven Jr., 44, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 18, 2011. Funeral services were held Feb. 21 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating.
Interment was held in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mr. Slaven was born Aug. 26, 1966, in Crossville, the son of John Carl Slaven Sr. and Edna Mae Slaven Bow.
He worked in tree service and loved playing his guitar and singing. He also enjoyed the outdoors by camping and four wheeling.
Survivors include his mother, Edna Mae Slaven Bow; sisters, Darlene Pryor and life partner Eddie Ingram, Katherine Stevens and Rhonda Sherrill and husband Tony; nephews, Jerry Buck Jr., Jamie Buck, Jason Slaven, Jacob Conley and Tony Sherrill Jr.; nieces, Tonya Fleenor, Tonya Brown, April Parker and Shannon Ferguson; and good fiends, Denny Roach and Teresa Brumbalough.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jon Cal Slaven Sr.
Pallbearers were James Sherrill, Michael J. Norris, Mark Smith, Leon Norris, Steve Sherrill and Chris Sherrill.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
