Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Falls United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jacqueline Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Klopman Mills and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are wife, Opal Allred Hoover of the home; sons, Jeffrey Hoover and Darrell Rogers, both of Asheboro; daughter, Lynn Causey of Asheboro; brothers, Hadley Hoover and Devoy Hoover, both of Asheboro; sisters, Ina Myrick and Ruth Luck, both of Asheboro; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.
