COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Ruby Maxwell Hargis, 82, of Cookeville will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 2, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hargis died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 11, 1920, in Putnam County to the late S.J. and Ruth Harris Maxwell.
Her family includes two sons, Jim and Dave Hargis, both of Cookeville; two daughters, Barbara Dobbs of Baxter and Becky Profant of Cookeville; a brother, Claude Maxwell of Baxter; 11 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hargis; a brother, James Maxwell; and a sister, Lucille Hale.
