Benjamin married Mary Rebecca (Glenn) Boyd (1826 - 3 May 1880) on 10 May 1842 in Washington County, Maryland.

Benjamin wrote his will on 15 July 1861. He bequeathed everything to his wife, Mary Rebecca Boyd. The will was probated on 11 Dec 1865 in Berkeley County, West Virginia.

Benjamin died at the age of 47 years.
