Theodore R. LANDIS, 71, R.R. 1, Akron, died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at his residence of a heart attack. Born Sept. 6, 1900, in Kosciusko county, he was the son of Israel and Laura Belle HITE LANDIS. His marriage was Sept. 17, 1921, in Rochester to Eva BRYANT, who survives. A lifetime resident of the Akron community, he was a retired employee of the Warner Brooder company of North Manchester. He was a member of the Disko United Methodist church. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Ann) FLOOR, R.R. 1, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Bobbie (Esther) KIRK, R.R. 2, Peru; one son, Charles [LANDIS], Peru; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie SAMSON, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Ethel BUCHER, R.R. 1, Silver Lake; one brother Dow LANDIS, Akron. One sister and three brothers preceded in death. Final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Silver Creek Church of God. The Revs. Peter HANSTRA and George RESER will officiate. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron until noon on Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to services.
