Mrs. Cora Dickson of Seymour Dies At 90; Rites Today
Seymour - Mrs. Cora L. Dickson, 90, died at 3:35 p.m. Friday at Sunny Dale Nursing Home in Abilene where she had been a patient for two years.
She received a broken hip about six weeks ago and had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.
Funeral will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the First Methodist Church here with the Rev. David Binkey, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Walter Zeanah, pastor of the Toe Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home in charge.
Born Cora Donnell Sept. 12, 1870 in Pea Ridge, Ark., she attended school in Seymour. She graduated from Sam Houston College in Huntsville in 1889 and taught in Seymour schools for a time. On Dec. 25, 1890, she married Judge Joe A.P. Dickson here. He died in 1941.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. B. A. Bartram and Mrs. Seth Cockrell, both of Seymour, Mrs. B. G. Harrison of Dallas, and Mrs. Carl Anderson of Sweetwater; one son, J. Donnell of Seymour; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Simms, Robert Fancher, Arthur C. Harris, Lawrence Harmel, Clyde Whiteside, L. D. Jones, Lee Morris and Burney Neathery.
