She joined Rev. Forest (Tex, Preacher) Weaver, her husband of 55 years, infant son John Theodore, and brothers John T. Deaton and Frances Raleigh, who preceded her. Alma was born May 6, 1919 in Perry County, Kentucky to Alfred Lonnie and Ida Mae Deaton. Her first job was at the Liberty Restaurant in Middletown, Ohio. She was also employed at Montgomery Ward and Elder Beerman until she chose to become a special nanny to her great nephew. This led to her joyful years as nanny to her granddaughter, Ashleigh. Alma worked with her husband in the jail and nursing home ministries of the Stratford Heights Church of God for more than 25 years.
