Phyllis M. 'Phyl' Freas, 77, Altoona, died Weds., Feb. 16, 2011 at home. She was born in Altoona to Lester & Pearl (Nail) Kelley. She married John A. 'Jack' Freas on Sept. 20, 1952, at First Baptist Church in Winchester, VA. Survived by husband; daughters: Deborah F. (Bruce) Garman of Hollidaysburg and Jodi A. (Joe Frank) Pohl of Altoona; son, Jon A. (Claudia) Freas of Hollidaysburg; 6 grandchildren: Christopher Garman, Brandon Garman, Sean Freas, Kylie Stauffer, Amanda Pohl and Ian Frank; 4 gr. grandchildren: Faye Garman, Samantha Garman, Regan Freas and Tye Stauffer; sister, Janet Gority of Hollidaysburg; and brother, Donald Kelley of Altoona. Predeceased by brother, Charles. Phyl was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School. She previously had worked for Sylvania and was the owner of Wilt's Florist. She was a lifetime member of First Church of God and had recently attended Calvary Baptist Church. Phyl was a member of her high school reunion committee; Red Hat Society; Order of the Eastern Star, Altoona Chapter; Altoona Hospital Auxiliary and Summit Ladies, and she volunteered at Altoona Regional Health System.
