Obituary for Clara Mae Harrison
Clara Mae Harrison, age 90, passed away on Saturday January 13, 2018 under the care of Hospice at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

She was born on November 26, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa to Harley A. Garrison and Lulu F. Tremain. Clara Mae graduated in 1946 from Cedar Falls High School. Clara Mae married Gerald Harrison on April 27, 1947 in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2000.
They resided in Cedar Falls several years before moving to Hamilton, Iowa where Clara Mae was appointed US Postmaster in 1961.
She and her husband later owned and operated Bidway Auction Center in Lovilia, Iowa. They became very close to their neighbors Milo and Cindy McCombs and their family; adopting their youngest son Bill as the grandchild they never had. She lived in Lovilia after the death of her husband before moving in 2009 to Homestead Assisted Living in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed her life there meeting new friends.
She had a special friend, Deb Santee, who helped care for her. We are forever grateful to Deb and her husband Sam for making Clara Mae
part of their family.

Preceded in death by: Two brothers, Kenneth Bigelow, Lyle Bigelow: two sisters, Marjorie Bigelow Maisenbach, Irma Bigelow Thorpe, and very close friend Betty Manser.

Survivors include, nephew, Ronald Bigelow; nieces, Sharon (Rich) Ahrens, Judy (Steve) Hill, Ruth Ann (Dave) Kneer, along with many other nieces nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia. Burial will follow services in Hamilton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia.
