"Mrs. Hannah Todd: Mrs. Sarah H. Todd, nee Bess, passed away Friday January 17, 1941 at 2 pm at her home near Americus, Missouri. She reached the ripe old age of 86 years and 21 days.
Mrs. Todd, daughter of James R. Bess and Susan Bess, nee Ellis, was born Dec. 26, 1854 and spent all her life in Montgomery county.
She married John T. Todd on Sept. 28, 1878. To this union were born two children, one of whom, Anna B. died in infancy.
She is survived by her son, Walter Lenard Todd, of near Americus; her sister, Mrs. Susan Anderson, of St. Louis; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by C. R. Covington, Sunday and interment took place in the Bush cemetery near Americus
