Howard "Gene" Goodwin, 56, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Washington County, son of the late George Barnes and E.L. Cook. Gene was a self-employed owner operator of Goodwin's Wrecker Service.
Survivors include: his wife, of 35 years, Donna Jo Bennett Goodwin, of the home; two sons, Ronald M. Bennett, of Johnson City, and Jonathan E. Goodwin, of Gray; a daughter, Connie N. Marshall, of Johnson City; two sisters, Elizabeth Marie Dye, of Johnson City, and Barbara "Bobbie" Long, of South Carolina; seven grandchildren.
A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, February 18, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. in the Garland Cemetery in Erwin, TN, under the direction of Pastor Charlie Frazier.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. All attending the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:15 p.m.
