Mrs. Ellen Ballenger, wife of Mr. Porter Ballenger, died at her home here last Thursday night after a short illness. She was about fifty-eight years of age, a member of the Methodist church, and a highly respected lady. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Virgil and Herbert Ballenger, two daughters, Mrs. Bill Upchurch of Monticello and Mrs. Nellie Hurt of this place, also a large number of grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon, and conducted by Rev. John Pittman, after which the remains were buried at the Albany cemetery. — Albany New Era
