Ernest J. Atkinson, age 74, died at his home in Mooresville after an illness of two years, on Saturday, December 29, 1945.
Mr. Atkinson was the son of Vestal and Jane Montgomery Atkinson and was born in Hendricks County on March 15, 1871. He married to Clara Allen on December 29, 1895. Mr. Atkinson was a farmer and a member of the Mooresville Friends Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Allen Atkinson; two sons and two daughters: Allen Atkinson, Indianapolis; Harold Atkinson, Plainfield; Mrs. Everett Phillips, Mooresville; Mrs. John Taylor, Indianapolis. Also a brother Oran Atkinson, Indianapolis; and a half brother, Orlando Atkinson of Fillmore.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Albert L. Copeland in the Friends Church, Mooresville, on January 1, 1946. Burial was in Sugar Grove cemetery.
Mr. Atkinson passed away on the fiftieth anniversary of his wedding.
