Following an illness of two years, Mrs. Opal J. Phillips died at Methodist hospital Wednesday. She had been a patient for almost nine weeks and was 74 years old.
A resident of Route 4, Mooresville, Mrs. Phillips was a housewife and a member of the Fairfield Friends meeting and the Sugar Grove Homemakers club.
Services were Saturday at Carlisle and Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
Survivors include her husband, Everette; five sons, George of rural Plainfield, James of Bethany, Thomas of Columbus, Joseph of Panama Canal zone, and Harry, of Longview, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Hoffman of Indianapolis, Betty Kudla of Camby, and Mrs. Margaret Corya of Indianapolis; two brothers, Harold Atkinson of rural Mooresville and Allen Atkinson of Valley Hills, a sister, Mrs. Lucille Taylor of Indianapolis; and 19 grandchildren.
