George ‘Roscoe' Bratcher

George "Roscoe" Bratcher, 58, died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Indianapolis.

He was born March 19, 1946, in LaFollette, Tenn. His parents were David Henry and Ida (White) Bratcher. He married Rita J. (Coyle) Bratcher on April 3, 1965. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Rayetta Faye Neely and Rebecca Lynn Hudec, both of Whiteland, Francina Mae Harless of Indianapolis and Cara Lee Benson of Edinburgh; a brother, David Franklin Bratcher of LaFollette, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.

He worked as a carpenter for 39 years. He also was a preacher, serving as pastor at numerous churches and conducting revivals in a three-state area.

He was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 7925 Huff St. in Acton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home, 5950 E. Thompson Road in Indianapolis, and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery in Acton.
