Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday February 14, 2011 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville for Mr. Steven Sones, Sr., 56, of Poplarville, Mississippi who died Saturday February 12, 2011 in Slidell Memorial Hospital, Slidell, Louisiana. Brother Mark Longino will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Juniper Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Poplarville.
A native of Poplarville, Mississippi he was born July 3, 1954 to Herman E. Sones and Bonnie Beach-Sones. He was a welder/pipefitter and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Lee Sones; one son, Chris Sones; and one daughter, Felicia Creel and her husband Billy; all of Poplarville, Mississippi; two brothers, Huey Sones, Sr. of Marion County, Mississippi, and Terry Sones of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; two sisters, Debbie Hollis and Donna Sones, both of Poplarville, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Shelby Sones, Destiny "Des" Creel, and Macy "Paw Paw's Little Fatty" Creel.; his mother, Bonnie Lee of Poplarville, Mississippi; and a special friend, Lori Sones-Bennett.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman E. Sones; and one son, Steven Sones, Jr.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday February 13, 2011 at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.
