Husband of Hannah Buffum-Wells. Father of Harry,John,Mary,Clara,Ella,Henry,Edward,Lucy and Amanda. Son of Rinnah and Nancy Beal-Wells. As one of the original pioneers of Rock Island County, Mr. Wells ran a ferry across the Rock River at Vandruff's Island with his father. He served as Deputy Sheriff for his brother Lucius. He was the first to hold the office of Township Supervisor in Zuma Township. He came to Andalusia Township in 1865 and at the time of his death he was the Township Supervisor.
