Mrs. Lena I. Fox
Mrs. Lena I. Fox, 83, of 60 Lincoln Avenue, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the NHE Nursing Home. She had been ill several months. She was a retired saleslady and had been employed by L.S. Ayers of Indianapolis, and J.C. Penney and Wells Shop in Bedford.
She was a member of the Bedford First Christian Church, the Order of Eastern Star No. 31 of Indianapolis, Deligentia Club and Senior Citizens Club in Bedford.
She was born April 5, 1894, at Leesville, the daughter of Jess B. and Clara Wever Hill.
She married Cletis H. Bartlett June 5, 1915, in Bedford, and he died in 1921.
She married Verlie O. Fox July 31, 1949, at Shelbyville, IN, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Max H. (Dorothy) Bratten of McCordsville, IN; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Hill of Indianapolis and Luther E. Hill of Dearborn, MI; a stepson, Maurice Fox, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Herman Tillison and Mrs. Ona Sullivan, all of Shelbyville.
A sister, Mrs. Harlen Bailey, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Cueni officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Per cemetery records, her parents were Jesse B. Hill and Clara Wever.
