Obituary: "Cherokee Democrat"- Tuesday Dec 6,1898
Daniel Bugh dead, another early settler gone to his rest. Daniel Bugh, one of the early settlers of Cherokee County, died at his home on Friday evening last. The deceased was 80 years of age. Mr Bugh came to Cherokee county in an early day-we do not know what year, but he was here when deer and elk and all kinds of game roamed the prairies, rarely molested. He was a great hunter in those days. For many years he has lived on his pilot Township farm, where a large family was reared. He was a splendid type of manhood unassuming and as honest as the day is long. The funeral occurred on Monday, the services being conducted by Rev Ferris.
