AGED WOMAN DIED TUESDAY
Mrs. Huldah Ensign, mother of Mrs Elmer Davis, died at the home of the daughter in the north part of Griswold about eleven o'clock Tuesday night. The immediate cause of her death were the infirmaties of old age. Mrs Ensign had been in her usual health until only a few hours before her death. She had made her home with the daughter for about two years, coming here from the old home north of Corning.

Huldah, daughter of the late Daniel and Susan Bugh, was born at Pendleton, Niagara county, Penn*, January 31, 1852, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 87 years, 9 months and 23 days. She grew to womanhood in her native state. Later the parents came to Iowa and she was united in marriage to Oren S Ensign, in Cherokee county, Iowa, in 1871. Later they moved to Adams county, Iowa, where Mr Ensign died some 25 years ago. Eight children, came to bless this marriage. Three of whom preceded the mother in death. Those who survive are: Walter Ensign, of Beaumont, Texas; Maude Tower, of Carson, N.D.; Cora Newman, of Park Rapids, Minn.; Norah Davis, of Griswold, Iowa; and Ms Grace Woody, of Nodaway, Iowa. Mr Ensign was a soldier of the Civil War.

In her early life Mrs Ensign was affiliated with a church organization. She was a good mother and will be greatly missed by her children. Following her death the remains were taken to the Wheeler Funeral home. Services will be held from the Funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and burial will be made by the side of her husband and children in the Quincy cemetery.
