The son of John and Julia Blahut. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia. He had retired from farming 11 years previously.
He was married to Elizabeth Burenheide April 18, 1923 at Olpe. She died Aug. 31, 1987.
He was preceded in death by two daughter: Lucille Martin and Marcella Stanford.
Survivors included four sons, Albert J., Donald, Arnold and Richard, 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Blahut's funeral was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, and he was buried in the church cemetery.
