Pharoah Boone Cobb was the son of William Cobb and Martha Boone. (the Aunt of Daniel Boone, sister to his father) William and Martha had five children, Joseph, Ethelred, Fredrick (who had no children), Eliza Cobb Baker and Fannie Cobb Teal. His father, William, moved from North Carolina to Tennessee several years after the rest of his family and for a time, sojourned in Georgia with his uncle, John Cobb, who is the ancestor of the Cobb's in Georgia.
Born near Bean Station in 1798, Pharoah Boone Cobb studied medicine under DR. Lyde and completed the Course of Lectures at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, PA. He practiced medicine for several years at Bean Station before moving to Mifflin in Henderson County, Tennessee until the end of the Civil War.
He married Eliaza Boykin, who was born at Cobb's Ford on the North side of the Holston River in Hawkin's County, TN.
She was reported to be "of an opulent family, who gave her every advantage, and was a woman of the greatest intellect and refinement."
They had 13 children:
