Mrs. Gullickson died Feb. 4, 2011, at the Harmony Health Care where she had resided for three years.
Virginia Edna Sholes was born in Money Creek, Minn., on Dec. 30, 1930, to Harley and Edna (Germanson) Sholes. She married Gordon Gullickson on Oct. 30, 1954, in Winona. She lived in Money Creek, then Winona until 1954, then moved to rural Lanesboro. While she lived in Winona she worked at a hotel as a housekeeper and also at an egg plant.
Virginia was a member of Elstad Lutheran Church, sang in the church choir, a member of WELCA and she attended a convention in California, taught Sunday School, had a daycare in her home, enjoyed quilting, gardening, and was a member of Sons of Norway in Lanesboro.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon of rural Lanesboro; one son, Richard (Mindy) Gullickson of rural Lanesboro; two daughters, Joy (Paul) Hundley of Burnsville, and Anne (Juan) Fernandez of LaPaz, Bolivia, South America; nine grandchildren; one brother, Glenn (Evelyn) Sholes and one sister Gladys Harrison both from Winona; and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro. There will be no reviewal.
