He was member of the Gallitzin Voluneer Fire company and had a service record of 42 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Mr. Burkhart was born April 22, 1890, in Allegheny township, Blair county, the son of George and Minnie Price Burkhart.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emily Helman of Altoona; two sons, George of Philadelphia and Howard of Gallitzin; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Bender of Gallitzin and Mrs. Julius Krish of Philadelphia, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Mrs. G.W. Stitt and Miss Florence Burkhart.
The body is expected to arrive Gallitzin today and may be viewed at the Conrad Funeral home. Mr. Burkhart was a member of the Gallitzin Methodist church.
