Manley D. Boardman, 57, died at the Veterans Hospital, East Moline, at 5:45 a.m. Friday after several weeks llness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dailey Mortuary, Port Byron. The Rev. W. W Marzahn, Port Byron Methodist pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery. Son of Mrs. Emma Hollister Boardman of Coe township and the late George Boardman, he was born Sept. 15, 1895 in Coe. He farmed there for several years and for the last nine years had been employed by Fairbanks Morse & Co., East Moline. For the last nine years he had lived in Rapids City. He received his education in the Port Byron schools. He was a veteran of World War I and member of Coe-Lamb, Post of The American Legion, No. 421, and a member of Fairfield Methodist Church. Surviving are his mother and four brothers. Fred of Rapids City, John of Moline, Hollis of Cordova and Albert of Port Byron. Six nephews Charles, Richard, Hugh and Robert Boardman. Wayne Riewerts and Bard Wainwright will be pallbearers.
