He was born March 1, 1895, at Pentress, W. Va., a son of George W. and Caroline Cooke Tennant.
Mr. Tennant, a veteran of World War I, owned and operated the Tennant Burial Vault Co. from 1944 until his retirement in 1960.
He resided most of his life in Pine Bank.
Surviving are his wife, Essie M. Tennant; four sons, Kenneth, of Cleveland, Ohio, James, of Mt. Morris, Albert, of Pine Bank, and Herbert, of York; five daughters, Mrs. Virgie Shaffer, of Spraggs, R. D. 1, Mrs. Helen Zehe and Mrs. Dolores Humphrey, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Cumberledge, of Lakewood, Calif., and Mrs. Youland Phillips, of Beaver Falls; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Six brothers, three sisters, two sons and one daughter are deceased.
