Friends called after 7p.m. Friday at the Milner and O'Flahrity Fruneral Home, Benton.
Mrs. Smythe was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Mothers Club and the Martha Washington Society.
Serviving are two daughters, Mrs. Aruthur (Norma) Symons of Janesville and Mrs. Ray (June) Parkett of Galena, Illinois; three sons, William and Charles, both of Janesville and Verne of Benton. 20 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren.
