Claud O. Barnes, 82, 1915 E. Eighth St., died Saturday evening at the Delaware County Health Center following an extended illness. Mr. Barnes, who spent most of his life in the Muncie area, was the son of Roman and Lillie Shores Barnes and attended Roosevelt School.
He was employed for nine years at Ball State University before his retirement in 1972. Prior to that he had worked at Glascock Manufacturing for 25 years.
Mr. Barnes was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, a 50-year member of Muncie Lodge 433, F&AM, and Esther Shrine 14.
Surviving are his wife, Nora Dominick Barnes, a niece and several nephews.
Services are pending at Meeks Mortuary.
