Mr. Lowe died on Thurs., Feb. 10, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1911, in Putnam County to the late Earl and Ocia Boyd Lowe. Mr. Lowe was retired from the Army with more than 30 years of service. He was also a retired supervisor in Housekeeping with Cookeville General Hospital. Mr. Lowe was a member of Boma First Church of God and a member of VFW.
Sgt. First Class Lowe received the following awards: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal with five loops, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with seven Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Germany), and National Defense Service Medal.
His family includes his wife, Anna Dee Lowe of Boma; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Neal and Judy Lowe of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Edwin Allen, and Ginny and Greg Sullivan, all of Cookeville; four granddaughters, Elizabeth O'Brien, Laura Parris, Andrea Lowe and Courtney Howell Sullivan; three grandsons, Kenneth and David Allen and Aaron Neal Lowe; a foster grandson, Chris Farrar; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ronald Hugh Allen; a sister, Opal Maynard; six brothers, Arvil, Julius, Virgil, Arden, John and Jim Lowe; and three infant brothers.
The military will serve as pallbearers
