BAXTER: Mr. Willie Smith Cooper, retired owner of the Cooper Merchandise Store, died yesterday, January 23, 1986 at this home at Rt. 1, Baxter. Funeral services will be conducted from the Baxter Funeral Home by Bro. Clyde Cunningham and Bro. Mont Hooper at 1:00 on Saturday.
Mr. Cooper, a member of the Boma Church of God, was the son of the late James Otto Cooper and Oma Crawford Cooper and was born in Putnam County. He died at the age of 82.
His family includes his wife, Vera Cooper of Baxter; a son Kenneth Cooper of Cookeville; 3 daughters, Hilda Anderson also of Baxter, Glenna Brown, Tullahoma, TN, Faye Anderson, Columbia, SC; 4 half brothers, Lee, Solon, Archie, and Bill Mitchell, all of Cookeville; 2 halfsisters, Clara C. Jernigan and Bessie Debree, both also of Cookeville; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mr. Cooper will be buried in the Smellage Cemetery.
