"REUBEN METCALF OF LOCKEFORD IS SUMMOMED
Beloved Farmer Loved for 63 years On The Ranch He Took Up
Lockeford, Jan 10. Reuben Metcalf, who lived on lthe same ranch near here for 63 years, passed way yesterday following an illness of some time. He was very widely known & held in the highest esteem by a host of friends all over this end of the county. Kindly, ever helpful, progressive & broadminded, he won & retained the admiration of all who knew him. He was a native of Kentucky, aged 87 years, 2 months & 23 days.
He is survived by his (2nd) wife, Lucy V Metcalf, & three daughters; Mrs F. Pollay of Acampo, Mrs J.D. Hoskin of Lowden, WA & Mrs L.B. Baldwin of Corvallis, OR. Two daughters, Mildred & Ruby, passed on during the first flu epidemic.
The remains are at the B.C. Wallace Chapel in Stockton. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon at 2 pm."
Reuben was an ordained Elder of Church of United Brethren of Christ.
